Robbers grab cigarettes from convenience stores
Police are investigating a link between two convenience store robberies in the east end of the city early Thursday. At 1:30 a.m., a man robbed a store in the 600-block of Watt Street of a quantity of cigarettes. Then, just before 6 a.m., two men robbed a store in the 1800-block of Henderson Highway, making off with a quantity of cigarettes. In the second robbery, one of the men was armed with a knife.
The men in both robberies are believed to be aboriginal in appearance. In the Watt robbery, the man is believed to be 25-30 years of age, about 5’7" tall, weighing 155-175 pounds, and clean shaven. In the Henderson Highway robbery, one of the men is described as in late 30s or early 40s, with a heavy build and a pock-marked face.
